Generate audio for speech

After editing the script and setting the voices, you would need to generate the audio for the speech before you can hear the audio file.

Note: If you're using Convo Mode and your selected voices aren't generating correctly, certain ElevenLabs voices may not be compatible with Convo Mode. Try switching to standard mode by toggling off the Convo Mode button at the top of your script, or filter voices by "Google gemini tts" for better Convo Mode compatibility.

Generate speech for a new clip or paragraph

If you have not generated audio for a clip or paragraph, click on Generate in the script edit page.

If you have made edits to a clip or paragraph that you have previously generated audio for (and therefore already has audio), click on Regenerate.

Tip: To minimize credit consumption when editing, use the Regenerate button on individual clips rather than regenerating the entire episode. Regenerating the full episode re‑renders every voice line and consumes significantly more credits, while per‑clip regeneration only touches the specific part you're changing. Small speech tweaks include free regenerations. If a regenerated clip's voice doesn't match surrounding lines, regenerate that one clip again rather than redoing the whole episode.

Generate speech for ALL new & edited clips or paragraphs

To bulk generate audio for all script and voice changes you have made, click on Generate all in the top right corner of the timeline editor.

Note: The "Generate all" feature is only available on paid plans. Free plan users will see an upgrade prompt and need to generate clips individually using the "Generate" or "Regenerate" buttons on each clip.

Troubleshooting audio generation issues

If the generated audio sounds robotic or doesn't match your script, try these solutions:

  • Regenerate the segment: Click Regenerate on the problematic clip or paragraph to generate a new version of the audio.

  • Make small edits and regenerate: Add or adjust punctuation (such as commas or periods) in the script, then regenerate the audio. Small changes can improve the generation quality.

  • Use manual editing: For small edits, adding new segments, or changing punctuation, make these changes manually in the script editor rather than using AI assistance (Wonda). Manual editing is often more straightforward and practical.

Troubleshooting audio playback issues

If you've generated audio but cannot hear it after generation, try these troubleshooting steps:

  • Refresh the page: Reload the page (Cmd/Ctrl + R) and try playing the audio again

  • Check browser extensions: Disable any ad‑blocker extensions that might interfere with playback

  • Inspect your script: Remove any extra empty spaces or segments in your script that might cause issues

  • Regenerate with small changes: Make a minor change to your script (e.g., punctuation or wording) and regenerate the audio
