Why does my voice change accent or sound different across my production?

Last updated: August 6, 2026

Occasionally, the AI voices may 'hallucinate' and their delivery for some clips or portion of the production might sound different to what you were expecting.

Most commonly this may manifest as:

  • Voice changing their accent over the course of the file

  • Voice sounding slightly different in terms of tone

This might be more likely to happen with voices under search attribute 'Natural', or when using Convo Mode.

Note: Convo Mode only supports American English by default, so even if you select British or other non‑American voices, they may default to American accents. Specifically, ElevenLabs voices may sound different or inconsistent when used in Convo Mode and work better in standard mode.

For Convo Mode, Google Gemini TTS voices are recommended for better consistency.

If this happens, your best bet is to re‑generate audio, either for the entire file / convo or for the specific portion(s) that are affected.

If this happens, try these solutions:

  • For Convo Mode accent issues: Try adding detailed Delivery Instructions (in the top center box) that specify the desired accent for each speaker. For example, include prompts like “Speaker 1: speaks with a strong British accent” or “Speaker 2: speaks with a British English accent, from the London region.” This can help guide the AI to maintain the correct accent throughout the conversation.

  • Make small edits to the text: Add commas, periods, or change punctuation before regenerating to help stabilize voice output and improve pronunciation consistency.

  • Switch to Standard Mode: If you’re using Convo Mode and need to preserve a voice’s regional accent, use Standard Mode instead.

  • Split very long lines into shorter ones, as voices tend to drift more over longer single lines
