After editing the script and setting the voices, you would need to generate the audio for the speech before you can hear the audio file.

If you have not generated audio for a clip or paragraph, click on 

If you have made edits to a clip or paragraph that you have previously generated audio for (and therefore already has audio), click on 

To bulk generate audio for all script and voice changes you have made, click on 

 in the top right corner of the timeline editor.

Generate audio for speech

Each paragraph in the script corresponds to a speech clip in the timeline editor. To add a clip onto the timeline, you would need to add a new (empty) paragraph to the script. See

The steps outlined below work for both speech and audio (music, sfx, recording etc) clips on the timeline. Make sure to 

 for speech clips first before dragging them.

To create a new speaker, music of sfx track, see 

Click to select a clip from the timeline.

Drag and drop the clip anywhere else on the track. Note not to drag the ends of the clip because that trims the clip instead.

We have now introduced a ~0.5s pause between the first two clips.

Drag a clip along an audio track

Introduce pauses in speech within a paragraph

 to add pauses within a paragraph. The specified pause duration can be between 0 and 3 seconds in length.

Breathe in. (1 second pause) Breathe out.

", write down the following script before 

Breathe in. <break time="1s" /> Breathe out.

Introduce silence periods between two audio clips

Click to select the later clip(s), and drag it back. For instance, a ~1 second pause has been introduced here.

Introduce consistent silence periods between many audio clips

 button in the top left corner of the timeline editor.

 to 0.5s, for example, which would introduce a consistent 0.5s pause at the end of each selected audio clip, as shown below.

Drag and move the clip forward. Drop the clip when you see a red dotted line, which snaps the following audio clip onto the end of the previous one.

Remove silence periods across many audio clips

 to 0.0s. All unwanted periods of silence between all selected audio clips should now be removed.

The steps outlined below work for both speech and audio (music, sfx, recording etc) clips on the timeline. You can create a new speaker track by following these simple steps.

To move a clip along the same audio track, see 

Drag the clip down slightly until the light green line appears, then drop the clip.

Create a new speaker, music or sound effect track 

To delete a track, either delete all audio clips in this track, or move all clips to another track.

If you might want to compare the same text read by different voices side-by-side, loop your favorite jingle or background music in the audio file created, or add the same dog bark five times along your ad, duplicate an audio clip could come in handy.

The steps outlined below work for both speech and audio (music, sfx, recording etc) clips on the timeline. You can 

 before or after duplicating speech clips.

button in the top left corner of the timeline.

The selected clip is now duplicated. Note that the script segment or paragraph would also get duplicated for duplicated speech clips.

Duplicate a clip in an audio track

To perform bulk action on audio clips, select many audio clips together first.

Go to the timeline editor of the track edit page.

Move your mouse to an empty space on a track. Hold it down and drag over the clips of interest. Release the mouse.

 (Mac), and click to select all clips of interest.

Once selected, you can perform bulk actions like adding a ~1 second pause before all three audio clips.

Multi-select audio clips

Click to select a clip from the timeline. Make sure you have generated audio for this clip.

Hover over the bar at the end of the clip, and drag it to the left.

The last ~2 seconds of the clip selected is now trimmed.

Trim a clip

Move the playhead to where you'd like to split a clip.

The original clip is now split up into two clips.

Feel free to  watch this video that goes through the below options.

Select a speed adjustment factor here, say 2x.

The clip selected will play at its 2x speed.

Alternatively, you can make more precise speed adjustments by pressing down the 

 key on your keyboard while dragging one end of an audio clip.

Control the clip volume and fade-in fade-out duration by adjusting the relevant sliders here.

The selected audio clip would now be downloaded as a mp3 file.

Delete an audio clip

Before exporting the audio track, check the audio of all clips have been successfully generated by confirming the following:

Remove any empty clips/paragraphs in the script, as shown here, by clicking on the text field and press 

 in the top right corner of the edit page.
